"Tifaifai" is the Tahitian quilting and patchwork. Mostly made for bedspreads and bedroom linen or cushion covers, this is an art that is practiced today by Tahitian vahines. 'Tifaifai' has been around for about the last 200 years. Often made with brightly coloured fabrics and themes include Tahitian floral motifs, such as 'uru' (or breadfruit), palm leaves, and ocean life.
