Polynesian Party Music Disguise
You have gone through all the trouble to set up the perfect summer tropical Polynesian island theme party, don't spoil it with ugly large stereos or speakers portruding from your island scene.
Music in Tahitian, Hawaiian and all polynesian cultures is very important. (If you don't have polynesian music for your island party yet, click on "polynesian music" to find one today.)
Disguise your speakers with flower adornements or cover with a large tiki covering (you can do so by enlarging the tiki template found in our "My Island Party" planning ebook). This won't muffle the sounds when you use it correctly and have enough holes for the music to play through.
Here's another great way to hide your speakers or stereos: disguise with a large cardboard "pahu" (Tahitian bass drum), like a tom-tom drum, cutout with motif shape holes cut out for sound. This will keep in with your island party theme elegantly!
Happy party planning! :)

Polynesian Fishing hook Adornement

The fish hook is a powerful symbol of the Tahitian and Polynesian culture. Fishing was the primary source of nourishment and remains a large part of the Tahitian lifestyle today.
It's symbolic meaning is applied to arts and crafts and as well as in costumes.
Polynesian fish hooks were made of 'mother-of-the-pearl' shells, whale tooth, wood or bronze (nails brought into the islands when the French settled).
Ideas:
• Use the 'My Island Party' Fish Hook template (click on the image) as pendant for necklaces.
• Print out template and colour or decorate to your own liking.
• Use fish hook template image on greeting cards or party invitations.
• Have your Island Party guests wear a hook with their name written on it.
