Heiva, Tahiti Polynesian frangipani flowerJuly, 2004
(To'aTa Stage, Papeete,Tahiti, French Polynesia)

In Tahiti, every year in July we celebrate French Polynesia's best artists, dancers and singers in a grand festival called the "Heiva". It is a beautiful tradition and one of the best times for celebration in Tahiti.

The "Heiva" really captures the essence of the French Polynesian islands and its people. This is where a culture is making itself heard through magnificent Polynesian art and talented dancers. The festival is a romantic blend of extravagant traditional Tahitian costumes accompanied by powerful percussionists and drummers with traditional beats and chants. It is a wonderful, colorful and vibrant festival that should not be missed.

If you have the chance to come to Tahiti on your next holidays, then mark July for an unforgettable experience.
